stavanzer Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 I've been searching for a couple good Photos of the axle shafts of early Fords. '32-'40. I want to try to scratch build a couple of the shafts. I can just wing it, since they are so small in 1/25 scale, but I'd like to at least come close to what they look like. The pics pics I get on Google always seem to be the whole axle, not the shaft. Maybe I'm just not searching for the correct words. Thanks!
mchook Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 Found this... https://www.ebay.com/itm/254562531534?hash=item3b451bf8ce:g:~VsAAOSw2aJei68G It's for a truck but should be the same, unless it's for a 1 1/2 ton truck and then it's just larger. I can check my fathers this weekend if you want, he might have one out that I can take some pics of.
NOBLNG Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 I can’t imagine them being much more than 1” diameter (.040” in 1/25 scale) or 1-1/4” (.050”). The e-bay ad says 36-9/16” length, which would be 1-7/16” in scale.
Sledsel Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 The fifth one from the right almost looks like the axle
stavanzer Posted December 16, 2021 Author Posted December 16, 2021 Thanks, Guys! This is perfect. I will use these pics to try to scratch build something.
