Brockc Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 It came up stunningly and that marina blue just suits the black wheels 1
Kenmojr Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 5 hours ago, Cool Hand said: Thanks Mathias. ha ha, cheers Bob Thank you, all the window trim and trim on the trunk/boot is Bare Metal Foil, everything else is Alclad chrome. I always pre scribe window trim at the body prep stage. Its a tedious time consuming task. But makes it so much easier to trim the foil and get much cleaner edges. Great tip. Thanks very much for the heads up!
Cool Hand Posted June 9, 2024 Author Posted June 9, 2024 (edited) It was inevitable. How could I not build a Holden LJ Torana Lowrider style Edited June 9, 2024 by Cool Hand 2
Zippi Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 Wowser....that's going to another fine looking model there Luke. 1

Cool Hand Posted August 28, 2024 Author Posted August 28, 2024 HQ Holden fully complete. More pictures Under Glass. 5
Cool Hand Posted September 1, 2024 Author Posted September 1, 2024 Continuing with trying to finish some stalled builds, I have the 57 Belair snap kit back on the bench, wet sanded, polished and applied the bmf. Hoping that will provide some motivation to get it complete. On 2/8/2022 at 1:39 AM, Cool Hand said: I really dont like painting metallics and pearls, as I am not very good applying them especially with an airbrush. Thats why I like to paint everything black, but that gets boring and there are some very nice colours out there. Thats what the 57 is all about, experimenting, learning and doing something other than black. Got it painted, I was worried about the texture on the trim from the pearl, so masked it before applying the paint. Got a bit of pebbling on the trunk near lower window trim, and few here and there. Oh well, live and learn. Will wipe some of when fully dry and hope to bury the rest in the clear. Cant wait to see this cleared and in the sunlight. 4
espo Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 Looks so much cleaner without the big aluminum splash on the side. 1

Cool Hand Posted September 5, 2024 Author Posted September 5, 2024 Have been on a good roll getting some stalled builds completed, so got to keep a good thing going while I can. Decided to bring this stalled build back on the bench to hopefully get completed. Just today it was wet sanded and polished with Tamiya compounds 2

You going to leave those Big ole meats exposed so you can see them through the back glass? 1

BK9300 Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 Looks great on the trailer - must be tough to coax something like that onto the trailer 'slowly"! 1
