TonyK Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 I use Tamiya TS spray paint all the time but wondered about the AS type spray. It describes them to be for airplanes with specific colors so obviously they work on plastic but don't know if they're flat, gloss, etc. Looking for a very light blue for the 1966 Ford GT and I think the AS-5 might be a good match.
Jim B Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 The ones that I have used have been kind of flat. Here are AS-26 Light Ghost Grey & AS-8 USN Navy Blue:
Sandboarder Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 The AS is a military theme series. most of flat while some are semi-gloss. Ive never never a gloss tank or ship but I have used a gloss coat of TS-13 over AS paints and with 2 coats they turn out nice a shinny.
Plowboy Posted January 15, 2022 Posted January 15, 2022 The AS paints are flat. But, that can easily be overcome with TS-13 or by polishing. This is AS-29 Gray Green with a coat of TS-65 Pearl Clear and three coats of TS-13. 3
