Have I found a holy Grail? 1969 AMT California hauler t500 500 with green tint glass still in the box

Finally found one of these early issues "Class of 69". It is molded in gray and windows and headlights have a light green tint. Modified the 10 holes ( chrome was very poor shape-turning white) to 5 holes and painted aluminum, added fresh new Pete hood emblems and an old Mercury sleeper to give it a vintage 60's look

Very nice great score. This is my brother Bills favorites out of the AMT truck kits. He just bought another one off of eBay week before last I think this makes him around 10 kits with the green glass and well over 20 over all kits of the little windows. I have almost 25 1/43 little window Pete’s one out of the bunch has the tinted smoke glass. Thanks for sharing. Truck looks nice

Came across it by accident, really hard to tell the difference between the original and re issues because the box art is very similar. Glad it was left pretty much unpainted, the chrome on top the grill is worn down, but other than than, has held up very well. Time to look out for the torsion bar KW's.

I built this kit, the first AMT big rig kit in 1969… I still have it, green glass and all! See “A Tale of Two California Haulers” in the Under Glass section from August of last year.

I have one of the T-500-500 kits, but mine don't have the green tinted windows, everything else is the same.
I also have the following T-500 kit with the sleeper, and the T-522 Wrecker.
