avidinha Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 I've enjoyed following your build. When I saw the wheels you were trying to replicate, I knew I had seen something similar in a kit. I finally remembered. These are in a Lindberg '40 Ford I'm working on. Still not exact, but maybe a little closer.

Jonathan Posted March 16, 2022 Author Posted March 16, 2022 (edited) "Gee, Brain, what do you want to do tonight?" First shot of Tamiya pink primer. And boy-oh-boy, just look at those issues! I did shoot a coat of red over this pink primer as a test (spoon) and the pink really brightens the red. Edited March 16, 2022 by Jonathan

I have a couple of other projects that I'm working on for a local club contest. As always, too many irons in the fire. 15 hours ago, avidinha said: If you want them, PM me your address and I'll send them to you. Thank you!
Jonathan Posted March 24, 2022 Author Posted March 24, 2022 Thanks, Andrew! Wheels arrived today - now I have more choices! (meaning - what should I do?) I'm still moving kind of slow on this one. I am trying to finish a 1/72 Mustang for a local contest (I shouldn't have entered, but I'm sooo close). Then, it's back to the Syclone!
Ian McLaren Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 Very cool project, and good progress to this point, well done.
Saltie Olds Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Now I’m really wanting to get my hands on another one of these GMC Syclone kits. Then build it how I did one 20 years ago, or so.

He loved quotes. I know it’s not owned by him but thanks for the memory!
Saltie Olds Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 The other day, I was able to order the two models that I’m needing to build my own GMC Syclone. Mine will be painted the same color as my S10 BAJA project. My inspiration is from a Johnny Lightning truck. 1

Saltie Olds Posted July 15, 2022 Posted July 15, 2022 With permission from Jonathan, I’ll be posting parts of my GMC Syclone here, and I’m calling mine Saltie’s Syclone. I had this Johnny Lightning Syclone, at one time, and did a model of it 20+ years ago, lost that first build, so doing another one. I’m going to be painting mine the same color as my S10 BAJA project was.

I’m going to clear the kit tonneau cover, but I’m also going to be building these into a custom tonneau cover as well.
