Put it on Ebay as "used paint to fit a 1960 Ford"...............

I think it looks like one of the jars of formaldehyde they have in a science lab....

"Here we have the preserved body of a New York city rat. And over here we have a preserved head of a possum. And over here we have a preserved form of an AMT 1960 Ford Starliner kit, generously donated by Marcos Cruz....

Wow Cruz, your projects are always inspirational man, don't know why you are not featured in the magazines with all the stuff you share. Paint is just awesome man. When you foil this thing it will really stand out. I mean, I was just looking at the "other" magazine and I have seen models on their covers that don't even come close to the stuff you do.

Had a little bit of time today and did a little bit of BMFing. This thing is tedious and at times almost impossible specially around the front but I am getting there with a bit of patience and a lot of spanish cursing.... :D

Bro, that is lookin' FABULOUS! The BMF on that looks top notch as that's not an easy car to do!

I am getting there with a bit of patience and a lot of spanish cursing....

Hee Hee.............I can only imagine!

Sweet Cruz, by the way, did you also BMF the part behind the rear wheels? It doesn't look as shiny as the molding. This thing is going to be a work of art brother. Looks lot a lot of work and one that I would not even think of doing.

Thanks Jay! For the rear skirt I used Model Master's Aluminum Buffing Metalizer paint, these skirts were not a shiny chrome but more of a high polished metal. The surrounding molding is BMFed!!

Let me ask a question, but first, that does look great! How did you handle the bmf around the rear corner of the fins? Just short pieces of length?

Yes, I work little pieces around that to form the elbow of the molding first and then I overlap the rest of the BMF that runs the lentgh of the molding. I do the same to the corners of the front and rear glass and anything that pertains to the corners. Not only is it easier but I think it will look more like the ones on the 1/1 car.....

Marcos,

This one is really progressing nicely!! I love the color combination and the paint job looks right on the money!!

I can hardly wait to see this one finished and on display in my cabinet!! You did say that you are going to send it to me when you are finished, didn't you?

Thanks for the conformation ... that's what I always thought about places where you have to start another piece of BMF .. it always occurs right where the real cars break their trim.

Bare Metal Foil is tough to do and this look's very professional! WOW!
Thanks my friend. You know, it's a little tough to do but it's something that has to be perfected through a lot of practice. I say this because I have a lot of people telling me that they have so many issues when working with it.

What I always suggest to do is to always use a brand new blade everytime and to not put too much pressure, this foil is so thin that excessive pressure on the knife is never needed. One of the reasons I scribe my bodies before painting is so that I can see the lines after the painting phase is complete. This is a tedious process but one that is well worth it at the end, specially with this type of kit. It is something that ANYONE can do, really!!! :D
