TonyK Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 I don't know what brand of wheel this is. Can anyone help? It was on a 1977 Celica so assume it was probably about a 14 inch wheel. Once I know what kind of wheel it is then I need to start searching where I might find them for a model. Thanks for the help.
Can-Con Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Look like they could be American Racing "Hurricane II" s but the number of spokes is wrong. BUT, here's a link to the Vintage Wheel Catalogue" site to look through. You might find something closer in there. https://vintagewheelcatalogs.com/
TonyK Posted April 17, 2022 Author Posted April 17, 2022 Thank you. It sure does look like it but darned if I can find anything that comes close to it for a model.
Can-Con Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 The last reissues of the MPC Dodge vans have a set of those wheels. 5 bolt and a bit deeper though. You could drill out the centers and replace them with 4 bolt centers from another wheel. Still a bit deep for a Celica but ???
NOBLNG Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 (edited) Maybe these? I don’t know of a kit with them though.? https://www.dragtimes.com/parts/PAIR-13x5-5-12-SPOKE-CALIFORNIA-WESTERN-CYCLONE-II-WHEELS-PINTO-CORTINA-CAPRI-_384343757149.html Edited April 17, 2022 by NOBLNG
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 (edited) There are some Aoshima sets that are somewhat similar, and could be reworked if you have a lathe, though it'd take some extra effort: Edited April 17, 2022 by Ace-Garageguy
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 (edited) This Fujimi 15" set as a possible starting point... Or this... Hobby Design maybe... And if you need 14" rims, there are many 14" sets out there you can turn the canters out of, and use the spokes from a set that looks like what you want... Edited April 17, 2022 by Ace-Garageguy
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Don't want to make 'em from something else? Maybe this guy can help:
