vintagerpm Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 I want to build a Revell Foose '56 F100 pickup without the "Foose" lettering on the tailgate. Will the bed from this Revell '56 Ford Pickup fit the Foose kit? They are not from the same molds as the Foose kit has the tailgate molded as part of the bed but the stock kit has a separate tailgate. I know there are other Revell '56 F100 kits with the tailgate molded to the bed, but a friend has this kit? (I won't see him for 2 weeks to be able to check.)
Mark Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 I wouldn't bother swapping beds, I'd just change tailgates instead. I de-Foosed one of those pickups when it first came out, knocked the lettering off of the tailgate and scratched a set of tall FORD letters using a '63 tailgate as an example.
vintagerpm Posted May 3, 2022 Author Posted May 3, 2022 (edited) I was just looking for an easy swap. Of course, another idea is to cut the tailgate out of the Foose kit and replace it with the seperate part from the '56 (if it fits). Attempting to remove just the "Foose" lettering on the tailgate looks like someting I'd screw up. ? Edited May 3, 2022 by vintagerpm

Cut “FORD” letters out of some .010” or .015” styrene and glue them on. If it doesn’t work out then swap the tailgates or entire box.
Mark Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 The AMT '53 pickup has a similar tailgate which is a separate part. That kit includes two tailgates, you might be able to get a stock one from someone who used the optional one.
