Hello all. I will be starting my AMT 1970 Chevelle SS454 soon and am wondering if any of you that have built the kit could share pictures, and tips about the build. Thank you.

As I recall, the kit went together pretty easily Jerry.  The biggest issue was the grill with the headllight bezels attached.  I cut the bezels off the grill to install.

Here a pic of the one I built.

I have only built one, and that was longer ago than I care to admit. The only issue that I recall was the grill area. The kits grill is chromed and that's not entirely correct. On the 1:1 there is a small body colored area that passes between the upper and lower grill. My suggestion would be to try and mask off the grills and the Chevy Bow Tie and scrape the chrome from the center part that should be body colored. Before spraying the body color, I would give it a light coat of clear to seal the edge between the grills and the center section just in case your body-colored paint would creep under the edge of your tape.  I did mine in a style common at the time with the grill and bumpers painted the body color and the grills blacked out.

Mike that’s really nice. I like the Green a lot.
