junkyardjeff Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 I need to find hoods for both so who made them.
Phirewriter Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 (edited) The car on the the left is a 1965 Plymouth Fury from Johan on the right is the '65 Dodge Coronet from MPC. Good luck with your search. Edit, the box says AMT but the kit was tooled up by MPC and as we all know the chassis was used under numerous kits thereafter. Edited June 25, 2022 by Phirewriter
thatz4u Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 I agree, hood from an AMT 65 Coronet may fit the one on the right...
keyser Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Decent resin 65 hoods out there for Coronet. Fury not so much.
Mark Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Coronet hood will be way "easier" to find, as the kit included two hoods. That left a bunch of "extra" hoods in parts boxes once the kits were built. The Fury hood got a lot tougher to find with Modelhaus' closing. I found even less of a '65 Fury some years ago, first thing I did was get a Modelhaus hood next time I placed an order.
mr moto Posted July 1, 2022 Posted July 1, 2022 FYI, the 1965 AMT Coronet that was tooled by MPC (that's the one that you have) is not the same as the AMT '65 Coronet that is currently available from Round 2. That one was tooled by Polar Lights. There's still a chance that the hood will fit or be close enough to adapt and it might be your best bet. The original AMT/MPC version is a very rare and much sought after bird.
junkyardjeff Posted July 25, 2022 Author Posted July 25, 2022 I also have found a hood for the Dodge too, this winter they will get restored. 2
