It's probably been 35+ years since I've built a semi. I'm slowly getting back into things. I've been building pickup trucks in the last few years but have been wanting to do one of these for a while.

I'm attempting to do a Peterbilt 359 day cab with wet kit. I've kit bashed a lot before, but this will be more scratch built then my other builds. I prefer not to buy anything. I've got a couple of  4x4 transfer cases that might be a good donor for the wet kit. I've got some small PVC pipe that will become a short tank for the wet kit. Not sure what I'll use for the frame mounts yet.

Welcome back to building big rigs again Mike. Looks like a interesting build. Can you give more information on the wet kit not sure what it is. Thanks

Wet kit is the hydraulics that run a dump trailer. It’s usually either a aux drive with a shaft driven pump or a aux drive / pump combo, a hydraulic tank, hydraulic line, and a tower inside to operate the power take off and raise / lower. In my early years I was a dump truck driver / mechanic. I’m going by memory, which these days is a bit fuzzy.

Great work so far. As for the wet kit, PTO etc... it's all on the interwebs mate. I used to work on tippers, tankers etc... so saw all sorts of set-ups but it's 30 years ago so I use truck sales sites and the like to remind me.

Chassis is in paint. Krylon colormax gloss banner red. Will be two toning it. Not sure I want black on top. Maybe gray.

From a build long ago, I have a headache rack off of an Alaskan Hauler.
