These are both from a circa 1961 release of the AMT Double T kit. They're box mates. They were built for Hot Rod Model Kits. The coupe made both front and rear covers, but the stock pickup didn't make the cut. (MBI had only had budgeted for 85 photographs.)

These are both beautiful looking builds. I don't recall ever seeing the T pickup-built stock. I like the way this one is detailed.

I just picked that book up at an antique shop in Crestwood, KY, along with a couple of Tim Boyd books and one on Raymond Loewy.

Terry, I love seeing these builds even if I've seen them before.  I have both Double T kits built along with the Monogram Red Chariot, Blue Beetle, Yellow Jacket, and a couple of others but build mostly factory stock models. You are really motivating me to build some of the other hot rod models I have.
