slusher Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 I have just started watching again. May the Lord comfort his family. No racer expects to die when he climbs in his car but it’s a risk. R.I.P. Ryan..

Memphis Street Outlaws used to start every episode with JJ da Boss saying, somberly, "Every time you get in that race car, you know tonight might be the night you die." (And last season on America's List, both JJ and his lovely wife Tricia very nearly did.)
Jantrix Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 I figured it would happen at some point. Racing drag vehicles on a street? C'mon. 1

I stopped watching it after 3 episodes What is the point of street racing Door Slammers on the street and running away from the cops? Mike

Mike I haven't seen any "running from the cops" on there in years, if ever. It's pretty obvious that the whole thing is legally sanctioned in some form or another. And you can bet insurance premiums have been pad.

Running from and getting busted by the cops was in the very beginning. It was funny when the cops showed up and they were trying to load up the cars back into their trailers. I can't remember if any of the cars got confiscated

I wouldn't be 100% sure that all those incidents with the cops weren't scripted. 1

By the way this looks, it's kinda being run the way the early NHRA events were in areas that did not have a sanctioned strip of some sort

No matter how many episodes that may be said, doesn’t make you believe it will happen. Every driver believes he will beat the odds. I ment it out of respect. It still a scripted program. Mike 1017 Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 Maybe I will give it another look. From the pre-views it looks like they are racing at Drag Strips? One of their friends wore a rent a cop uniform and drove up in a Crown Vic. It sure got their attention for about 60 seconds. Mike 1
