mrmike Posted September 26, 2022 Author Posted September 26, 2022 I decided to add more detail to my 440 6 pack. I used a piece of wire and some superglue and added the hose from the PCV valve to the carbs. Then I found my Shabo Tire Graphics and added Goodyear to the tires. I thought I had an extra set of water slide decals, but I must have used them elsewhere. More GTX to come... 1
mrmike Posted September 28, 2022 Author Posted September 28, 2022 I painted the GTX this afternoon. More GTX to come... 4
mrmike Posted September 29, 2022 Author Posted September 29, 2022 Thanks Alex! I did a sniff test on this and it is still gassing out even after 12 hours in my dehumidifier. It is dry to the touch, but still gassing out.
mrmike Posted September 30, 2022 Author Posted September 30, 2022 (edited) Thanks Bil! The chassis is almost completed, except for the exhaust tips, wheels and tires. More GTX to come... Edited September 30, 2022 by mrmike 2
mrmike Posted October 10, 2022 Author Posted October 10, 2022 I did some detailing on the front grille, rear trunk lid and the taillights. Then I started taping the hood for the Performance Hood Treatment. More GTX to come...
mrmike Posted October 27, 2022 Author Posted October 27, 2022 I finally painted the '69 GTX with Tamiya TS-6 Matt Black. Next will be Gloss Clear over the Matt Black to bring out a glossiness to the paint. More GTX to come...
slusher Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 Mike you have made lots of progress! I have missed a few updates and you getting closer to the finish..
mrmike Posted October 28, 2022 Author Posted October 28, 2022 Thanks Carl! I haven't been working on this project like I should. I haven't felt like like working anything like I should, so some projects have languished.
Joe Nunes Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 Well the work you have done so far is sure looking good! The color is a winner. Joe
mrmike Posted November 10, 2022 Author Posted November 10, 2022 (edited) I found the wiper motor on an old AMT Dodge Challenger firewall and I added a power brake booster. More GTX to come... Edited November 15, 2022 by mrmike
mrmike Posted November 15, 2022 Author Posted November 15, 2022 The engine bay is complete. I even added the extra horn on the other side of the radiator core support. After looking at several other builds of the '69 GTX, I noticed a squat in the rear suspension. I decided to add a couple of risers to the rear leaf springs to raise the suspension a little. More GTX to come...
mrmike Posted November 15, 2022 Author Posted November 15, 2022 Thanks David! I keep finding little things that I can add to this project.
KWT Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Nice touches on both. Those risers will be cool add on for sure
mrmike Posted November 17, 2022 Author Posted November 17, 2022 Thanks Jeremy! I want to eliminate the rear squat and I searched my many parts boxes to find the raisers for a '68 Dodge that I had to modified. I can't remember if it is for a Charger or a Dart.
