Horrorshow Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 AMT 58 Edsel kit. Sanded off all the trim. Plastic Performance wheels and tires. Built this when I first discovered aftermarket decals. I bought a bunch from different vendors. They disintegrated or would roll up and wouldn’t stick. I did not know about microsol at the time. I bought some more which were slightly better. These numbers didn’t match the paint lines. I am more aware of quality vendors and brands now. I believe the 58 Edsel is a very underrated car. 2
TonyK Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 You did a real nice job making this into a NASCAR racer. Decals fit just right and the paint job is perfect. Still an Edsel though. LOL
spencer1984 Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 Well done, the conversion looks totally at home here!
JohnB Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Paul Bass ran a 1958 Edsel convertible #45 in the 1959 Dayton 500. Bill Stroppe/Ray Swift ran a 1958 Edsel in Baja, I believe it was mounted on a ford truck frame. There is a 1958 and a 1959 Edsel that claim to be the world's fastest Edsel, I think I saw them on YouTube My grandfather owned 6 of them in his lifetime, some would be worth big bucks today, including a really sweet 1958 black convertible with red interior that my uncle drove throughout High School, until he opted up to a 1962 Chevy Impala SS 409
