ROY FERGUSON Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 AMT 1950 Chevrolet pickup. Nice kit no flash or warpage. The windshield was basically the same size as the opening. Trying to put the windshield in it slipped and got glue on it. I fogged the windshield with smoke trying to make it look tinted ,did not work. I will get another one and figure out the windshield.
Jim B Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 Nice looking truck. Too bad about the windshield, though. 1
Zippi Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 Nice looking pickup. I've build one and have another one in my stash. I also have a 49 Chevy pickup 1:1 Restomod. 1
happy grumpy Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 Great looking Chevy. The color combo look really good. For the windshield , you could try Tamiya smoke spray, the number of coats will determined the darkness you want to achieve. You could also go with the same paint but the acrylic bottle, if you have an airbrush. I remember in the past, I had a leftover piece of tint windows film. I applied it over a wet coat of future wax from the inside, I had good results. As with the real thing, you remove the bubbles before the liquid wax sets. Do some test on any clear plastic to decide what works best for you. 1
KWT Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 that looks pretty cool. What colors did you go with?
ROY FERGUSON Posted November 3, 2022 Author Posted November 3, 2022 (edited) I did use SMOKE on the windshield .The light color is Rustoleum Winter Haze the fenders are Krylon Ocean Blue. Do any of you think the tires are a bit small ? Edited November 7, 2022 by ROY FERGUSON
