These wheels are on the chrome tree of the AMT 69 firebird trans am kit. What would they be for? The rally type wheel option on the tree has 5 lugs. They look to me like something off a 90s Blazer.

At some point in the late 70s the model companies decided that more lug nuts were better so there are a bunch of kits that have nice looking but unusable wheels. Every manufacturer was afflicted to some degree, it's really an odd thing.

Thanks guys. I guess I am baffled as to why a model company would make molds with parts not useable on the kits they are included with. Maybe the tree started life as something else? The other parts are in-line six stuff and some custom pieces, and a FREBIRD license plate thingy.

I am sure I will find a use for them somewhere.

You could always use them in a Datsun, D50 or Courier pickup.

That means I have to buy another kit, as I don't have any of those in the stash. Darn it all, off to the hobby store I go.....

Ever seen a Heller kit? The only thing really usable is the box it came in, to hold the pieces while you carry it to the trash can. ?
