Thanks Mike Most don't have the teeth molded in, so just use a wide rubber band and cut it short and glue it back. Then use a sharpie marker on it. It will look more realistic than a chrome one painted black.

LL3 Model Worx
I cut pullys from aluminum tubing and used medical tape colored with black sharpie on this thing a few years ago because I lost the blower belt... It passed the sniff test for me.

What I would like to see is how to tutorial on making the pulleys. Got a lathe and mill (the mill is used to cut the drive ribs in the pulleys)? If you don't really care about the ribs, you can easily fab pulleys using styrene tube and sheet stock, with bolt-head details. Barring that, the AMT Garlits Wynns Jammer has nice styrene ones you can make resin copies of. LL3 Model Worx
You could also crack open an old VCR or tape player or any sort of disc drive and find some small pulleys with teeth and likely belt also. Most electric shavers have some small ribbed gears also.
