jdcar32 Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 Had fun with these two, something different I guess. First attempt at figures and diorama type bases for a model. A combo of rattle can and craft acrylic paints. The bases use model railroad style diluted glue to fix plants and dirt, standard stuff but new to me. Some added touches needed, the kits are really basic old school tool. 4
TooOld Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 Great stuff Jon ! Love all of the little extras you've added , like the squished bee ! I began building models in '62 or '63 with the Weird-Ohs and still enjoy them today , thanks for posting ! 1
TarheelRick Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 Got a good chuckle looking at these. Your details really bring them to "life". As Bob said that squished bee is superb. Great work. 1
Joe Nunes Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 These turned out great! The addition of the bases really adds to the appeal of the two models. Well done! ? Joe 1
Phirewriter Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 (edited) Very cool! As stated in previous comments, your added details really add to the already excellent builds. I've found the Weirdo's series to be fun slump busters but require a bit extra to really make them look good compared to the Revell Roth monsters. For those interested, this book is a very enjoyable look into the art and creation of the Hawk kits. I don't remember what I paid through Amazon but it wasn't too bad, worth the money if you like these kits. Edited January 2, 2023 by Phirewriter 1
Dragline Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 These are fantastic. You certainly have a flair for this type of kit. Both are some of the best representations of the kit I have ever seen. 1
