cobraman Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 Always liked the little Gee Bee planes . Had some kits in the past but painting the scallops was an issue for me . When I saw this tiny kit that had some decals for the scallops I had to have it . Even with the decals some painting had to be done . The instructions said Humbrol 19 red was a match for the decals . I ordered it and found out it was not a match at all . I decided just to use what red I had which was actually closer . Not terribly happy with it but did the best I could with this tiny thing . 1
Joe Nunes Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 A nifty little aircraft model that's been around for quite some time but still looks good when built. ? Joe
Jim B Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Nice job on the Gee Bee. Talk about a plane built around the biggest engine of the time.
happy grumpy Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Nice work Ray. From what I read , this thing wasn't easy to fly. Nice to see it built.
TooOld Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Boy that's really tiny ! Always liked the Gee Bee planes , nice job Ray ! Even with the mis-color the scallops look cool , I built a bit larger one years ago and they were a real pain with no decals .
TonyK Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 I like this plane and that's a tricky paint scheme on a small model but you did good.
cobraman Posted January 22, 2023 Author Posted January 22, 2023 Thanks Carl. Not easy to work on these small kits anymore.
