redzed Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 i'm not building it as the USA vega but decided on a pro street version. so i didn't do the full roll cage and got pro street tires on ebay instead of the kits slicks, and different wheels. i've only been on this site for a couple of weeks and have to say i'm kind of embarrassed to post pics because some of you build with so much detail i can't believe it ! this kit is rather plain jane as the front & rear suspension, drive shaft are molded in the chassis. it will be some color metalic blue. 4
Bullybeef Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Well you are off to a great start. Keep plugging away.
Joe Nunes Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Nice start on your model project. I need to find one of these kits for myself as I bought a new '74 Vega GT off the showroom floor back then. Metallic Green with White graphics, and a Black interior. 4-speed with posi-track and lots of options. I really enjoyed driving that car and still like the 1974 style. Hope you enjoy your Vega build! ? Joe
redzed Posted January 24, 2023 Author Posted January 24, 2023 (edited) years ago my wife had a black fast back vega w/auto but i guess the way to go was the cosworth twin cam as they are still worth a pretty penny Edited January 24, 2023 by redzed 1
espo Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 The engine and basic interior look great already. Don't know if the rear tires in your picture are what you're going to use, but I like the tread pattern.
redzed Posted January 24, 2023 Author Posted January 24, 2023 those are 'pro street tires' {they have tread) i bought on ebay and are the same size as the slicks that came with the kit.
Rocketman455 Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Great start. Never be embarrassed. Build'em for you. Build'em and be proud. I love this kit so I'm excited to see how it turns out. And being an old Pro Street fan, your talkin my language.
KWT Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Nice start. Don't compare what you do to anyone else's except to improve. Build it, knock it out to the best of your ability and roll on to the next.
redzed Posted January 25, 2023 Author Posted January 25, 2023 thanks for the kind words , getting ready for paint
bluestringer Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Looks great. Those tires and wheels look like they came from the 66 Chevelle Pro Street kit.
Stingray wes Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 The stance is perfect! I might have to pick up one of these kits. Looking real good.
slusher Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 I agree great stance! I like the rear tires! Did the intake come with the kit?
redzed Posted January 26, 2023 Author Posted January 26, 2023 motor is kit stock except for plug boots and wires
