novadose71 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 (edited) Finished this up two weekends ago and finally got the pics sorted. It's was an old builtup, AMT body, chassis, and glass, the steering wheel and column came from the AMT 62 Bonneville, I made the shifter and boot, and the interior, bumpers, wheels & tires are from Modelhaus. The paint is Nocturne Blue lacquer. That's it for this one, on to the next. BTW don't mind the resin dust, I've been doing a little grinding Thanks for lookin' Edited February 9, 2009 by novadose71

george 53 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Wow, I'm withJurg on this! It looks GREAT! Sure is nice to see them big ol boats done up in stock form!.Yours looks so nice an smooth, sure does remind me of how BIG they were, like MILES of quarter-panel sheetmetal! You sure picked a GREAT color for it!GREAT Save/Build!
CB Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Yeah, right---this is a model ...........C'mon Rob, this here forum is for MODEL cars! just kiddin' dude. Awesome work, totally awesome
MADmodelDOCTOR Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 WOW!!!!!! Very, very nice. Interior is awesome. Well, I guess everything is.
fordh8r Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Yeah, what they said! This thing is great! I would like to see that color in bright daylight. You can barely tell it's blue in those pics. I'm not complaining, it looks outstanding even appearing to be black.
Bernard Kron Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 As someone who has virtually never built a stock car in my modeling life I consider these sorts of builds totally awesome, an example of modeling discipline I can only hope to aspire to. The interior is, of course, stunning, but the foiling, the paint texture, etc. is all so "in-scale" that builds of this high quality are always a real treat to enjoy. Thanx for sharing.
Bryce Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Wow - that's beautiful. Great job on a cool car.
Slim Louis Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 (edited) Beautiful looking model. What did you use for a chassis, if any? Edited February 9, 2009 by Slim Louis
novadose71 Posted February 10, 2009 Author Posted February 10, 2009 Thanks guys!!!! Louis- the chassis is the Bonneville kit chassis with the ride height adjusted. .....you're right Fordh8r, I should have taken some outside pics, it definitely would have shown the blue better. Maybe next time
chris coller Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Very nice! Love the dark metallic blue and a very clean build. NICE, NICE, and again NIIIIICE!!!!!!!!
RodBurNeR Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 really nice! I had one awhile back, but ended up trading it off. I still want another , they make GREAT 60's cruisers.
phantomw Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 THE CAR IS SICK AND THAT INTERIOR IS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
sak Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Outstanding bro !. Excellent work you did. In particular, the bare metal foil on the side vent windows I am most amazed by, I seen this kit at a local flea market but I am too intimidated by all the stainless trim. Jeff
MrObsessive Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 That's one of my favorite colors for early/mid '60s Pontiacs! Excellent build with flawless paint! If GM would have given current Pontiacs the personality it had when this car was new--------they may not even consider letting the division go. In fact, a lot more of GM cars could stand some good "character" styling!
cruz Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 WOW!!! Sweet build man, love the color choice and the interior, WOW!!!!
carrucha Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Very good job on the restoration. Very good job on detailing the interior. carrucha

In fact, a lot more of GM cars could stand some good "character" styling! ......like the GTO's from a few years ago.........a great car even with the plastic interior.....they would have been a lot more popular with a rebody to add some of Pontiac's character.......and not Grand Am "character" either
John Goschke Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Beautiful restoration that more than does justice of one of the best AMT annual kits ever! This kit definitely has the best interpretation of the '62-'64 GM two-door hardtop roofline.
Harold Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 That is gorgeous. However, since you have a shrinking ray....
DR Dubois Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Every inch of this thing is perfect!! Wicked paint job and that interior looks almost real! 11 out of 10 from me
62SS Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Beautiful build of one of the best looking Pontiacs ever. Flawless paint and foil, And that interior is just incredible. Fantastic job. Two thumbs up!! Ed
