Joe Nunes Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Has anyone here built the Atlantis Gas Truck, the Sinclair (green) version? Seeking post information and photos to see what you did with this kit. I have seen build photos somewhere but I am not getting a useable response from the forum search tool. Sorry I have to ask this way. ? Joe
cobraman Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 I did one sometime ago. Pics should be here somewhere. I gave the model away. I painted mine red and white and ordered Texaco decals for it. My first job was at a Texaco station so I went with that, As I recall only the cab gave me a little bit of trouble. 1 1
Joe Nunes Posted February 12, 2023 Author Posted February 12, 2023 Thanks Ray, and I will pay special attention to the cab area. I appreciate the heads up. ? Joe

Straightliner59 Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 I have an article from the late, other mag of one a friend of mine build. It is absolutely amazing! It's in PDFs, though, so, I will have to screen cap the images. Give me a day or two. Here's a teaser... 1
Joe Nunes Posted February 13, 2023 Author Posted February 13, 2023 Thank you for the information, Daniel! Looking forward to seeing the photos and information. ? Joe

Joe You're most welcome! Anything you can learn from Derek will be well-learned. He is probably the best all-around modeler I've known. He excelled at everything he built--which was mostly 1/72 scale WWII Japanese aircraft. The Rudd Thunderbird mentioned in this article is unbelievable, as well. Now, he chases trains with a camera! He and I used to "challenge" each other to build small. My stuff was never anywhere near as good as his, but, you can learn a thing or two putting a cockpit in a 1/600 Corsair! This 1/144 Cobra was also a product of those times. Part of one of the controls is missing, but, it's mostly intact. 1
Joe Nunes Posted February 13, 2023 Author Posted February 13, 2023 Now THAT is amazing to me! No wonder your model work is so nice. However, I would like to get one of those giant pennies for my own use…can you share the source? ? Joe

I'm not sure I could see, to do that, anymore without improved magnification! The reading glasses ain't gonna cut it, for that! 1
