Best I could do, at a moments notice. ? I'd never heard of, or seen the kit, so I grabbed the first pic I could find that was not a perishable link to an auction. I do not think any one has a photo to the Test Shot. But, Maybe someday.
Mark Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 The Pontiac was never a kit, it was a promo and probably a "remote control" toy. AMT did offer a few acetate bodied promos in unassembled form, but I believe that practice began in 1953.
Rob Hall Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 AMT did a variety of promos of unusual subjects in the early 50s, don't think it was until '58 that they had what we think of as regular annual kits? I've seen a few of the early 50s promos like this Pontiac in antique stores, usually warpey and pricey.
Motor City Posted March 12, 2023 Author Posted March 12, 2023 (edited) AMT did a 3-pack of unassembled kits of 1953 models (Ford, Studebaker, Pontiac) using the promo bodies. Their promos started using the non-acetate plastic during the 1961 model car season. What about the 1/20th scale Packard ambulance and the (1/25th?) Divco milk truck? How about it, Round2? Brian Austin Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 People would just complain the Packard was in 1/20 scale. ? 1
