Single piece chassis made to look the part. Nicely done sir!

Thanks, Pierre. For some reason this model is taking forever to complete.  Maybe I finally went over the hill and can't do these things anymore. Well, I'm not going to stop trying.

You have done the exhaust since I checked in last nice work! I enjoy your scratch building…

Thanks, Carl. I appreciate the kind feedback.

I like the air cleaner... nice when you don't have to detail a carburetor to the nth degree.

Thanks, Bob, and so true about the carb. I guess I could put a coupler on the air cleaner to make it removable and clean up the carb a little to make it look presentable. But the manifold is way off.

Nah... I thing risk vs reward on something like that. Now the 1965 Galaxie big block is something I have used, it details up nicely. My next NASCAR modified will have one in it.

If I had a 65 Galaxy model, I would definitely be doing a 65 Ford. Those kits are very hard to find unless there was a new release lately that I did not hear about.

I have a few '65 Ford kits, great donors for many projects. I used the '65 Chassis under a '66 stock car a while ago. The 427 is hard to beat. I think I saw the green kit in a hobby shop, possibly it was a '66. I have to check evilBay too.

It will be a while before I get to a 65 Ford. My next build will be a 3rd gen Camaro.

Too bad they put Thunderbird script on these valve covers; I sanded off the script and added small rectangular pieces of bare metal foil. It's not perfect but when I get the Holman and Moody decal on the center of the valve cover it won't be that noticeable. Getting very close to the end. The kit I used for the Fireball Roberts car had smooth chrome valve covers as you can see in some of the previous ref pictures.
