Ben Brown Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 (edited) Nunu has announced a 1/24 BMW M4 GT3. Not surprising since they’ve already done the M6 and M8. I’ll be getting at least one, even though it’s got a face that would be improved by a front end collision. Facebook link: Link Still waiting for them to release the 911s they announced a couple of years ago. Ben Edited April 23, 2023 by Ben Brown
stavanzer Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 I love that face! Ugly as Sin, but all business,
The Junkman Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 Where can one consistently find Nunu/Platz kits in the US? I've seen announcements and buildups but I've never seen a kit for sale. Granted, I live in a hobby shop desert but where?

Burbanks House of Hobbies has a few. I usually get my race car kits from one of several eBay sellers or from SpotModel in Spain. Ben 1

niteowl7710 Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 HobbyEasy in Hong Kong is going to be the best price and earliest source as HK/Macau gets the kits a good 2-3 weeks before Platz does in Japan. After H.E. any of the usual suspects in Japan (HobbyLink Japan, Hobby Search, Tokyo Hobby, et al) will have the 2nd best price (usually only a few bucks more) and 2nd quickest stock-in time. As others have mentioned SpotModel also carries their line. But the Euro/Dollar conversion and import fees pass-along can add up to $15 to the price and they tend to be 90 days or more behind the actual release times. 1 1
Tyas Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 This in Rossi's no. 46 WRT livery for GT World Challenge is an absolute gem.

I do stock them as often as I can at my shop, enough so that NuNu actually sent me a countertop calendar as a thank you for being a NuNu retailer. In particular their Porsche 935's are a consistent mover for me. 1
niteowl7710 Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 I know this isn't a BMW...but they just dropped this little nugget. Final test shots and approved box art for the long overdue 2018 911 RSR. 2 1
stavanzer Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Is that the old "Pink Pig" art on a modern car?

The 2018 Season for the Factory Teams that ran the GTE cars in FIA/WEC and IMSA were all throwbacks to earlier paint schemes. The team car to this was a de-tobacco'd Rothman's livery, the IMSA team ran the 1998 911 GT1 scheme at Petit Lemans (Road Atlanta). 1

Yes, and it was the one that won the GTE Pro title on 2018 edition of Le Mans 24. The Rothmans ones was the one who had a 2-laps duel against Chip Ganassi Ford GT with Gianmaria Bruni behind the wheel.
niteowl7710 Posted May 6 Posted May 6 I don't know if there's been a more recent version of a thread about this kit - the search function here being what it is (and isn't), but this kit was finally released last week in Hong Kong/China. Now of course the problem is it's being taxed to heck and back if you try to order it directly from places that have it in stock due to the suspension of the de minimis from those locales. Should be available in Japan sometime later this month, and it'll be interesting to see how that would be handled under the current tariff regime. Technically it's a product of Macau, not China, and as such wouldn't be subject to the current de minimis nonsense that effects HK/China items. If you ordered it through HLJ and can store it for an additional 60 days beyond it's arrival date you might not have to worry about it - or it'll be 10x worse - depends on what mood everyone is in that morning.
Ben Brown Posted May 6 Author Posted May 6 Good news! Well, except for the tariff situation. SK posted a photo of the body a few days ago on FB, so I assume we'll be seeing some alternative decals for it, soon. Also saw where Nunu is also releasing the 991 RSR kit with the Rothmans tribute livery. Ben
