D.Pack Posted May 24, 2023 Posted May 24, 2023 (edited) Hi all. Some advice needed on how to continue this build. I have brushed on Gauzy Agent acrylic clear to this car body, but with a lot of debris included. Annoying, body and paintbrush were both cleaned and free of dust. So, can this Gauzy Agent clear be sanded down and recoated and sanding marks will disappear? Or is an ammonia strip possible, dabbed on with Q Tips? And hopefully I can then complete this Nascar build. Edited May 24, 2023 by D.Pack
NOBLNG Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 I am certainly no expert on finishing, but I think you could sand out the debris with 2000-3000 while carefully avoiding the decals. I am not familiar with that clear at all, but I don’t think spot stripping would be a good idea. Someone more experienced will hopefully chime in. Good luck!?
D.Pack Posted May 25, 2023 Author Posted May 25, 2023 This Gauzy clear, is supposed to be the same (almost) as Johnson's Klear and it's spin offs. I can find it's review videos, but nothing yet said on how to strip it. Will try the sanding of it.
stitchdup Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 I've found the gauzy can gunk up your sand paper pretty quickly, but if your paint under it has a solid hold on the primer you can try an ordinary soft pencil eraser on the affected parts. the gauzy should rub off if you dont press down too hard and since its self levelling it will be an easy touch up. Also the gauzy cannot be overcoated with acrylic auto paints, its will crease up and crack.

One of the decals curled up at edges. And I did find this, not truly for sealing decals.?
