1959scudetto
From the Hachette 1/24 Mexican series (made by Ixo): a no-nonsense, plain utility vehicle with almost no chrome. I ordered this one because I sold off my amt kits. Cab/hood is metal, whereas the pickup bed and rear fenders are plastic - all painted a very dark green. As I knocked off the rearview mirror bracket on the passenger side, I decided to give it a little "Snake-Fu" treatment: I added some round mylar chrome foil to both mirrors, a small piece of aluminium tube for the exhaust pipe and 1961 Wyoming plates cut from a very old auto world license plate sheet (could be a "Cowboy Cadillac"/c. Terry Jessee) - in my imagination, a typical vehicle for rural America back in the day. At last, I needed a load and cut a cardboard box from a Verlinden sheet I bought 30 years ago.
Gramps46
Very well done indeed. I am curious why IXO chose a light color interior for a plain work truck. I did go looking for one on the bay but the only one I could find was on the French eBay and shipping seemed high. Sunny Side and Motormax also make the '55 stepside but I really like the color of yours. Edited June 4, 2023 by Gramps46
