6bblbird Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 Sometimes you just look at a part or parts and think "I can make something out of that!" That's pretty much what happened here. Resin body of unknown origin, some cool mags, a chassis and some engine parts. First mock up 3
deuces wild Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 You got me hooked! Keep them pictures coming please.... Thanks!....??
6bblbird Posted June 5, 2023 Author Posted June 5, 2023 The '33 Willys chassis fits the resin body perfectly!
6bblbird Posted June 6, 2023 Author Posted June 6, 2023 My notifications show that there are at least 8 replies to this topic. For reasons unknown to me, I can not see them. They are not showing up when I access this thread. Sorry if I do not reply. Anyone know why this may be? I only see comments from Muncie and deuces wild from yesterday.

6bblbird Posted June 6, 2023 Author Posted June 6, 2023 I meant to say that notifications show comments from other members
6bblbird Posted June 6, 2023 Author Posted June 6, 2023 I like the way it sits in these pics. Just high enough. 1
Shark Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Looking at the body you are using, it looks very good, could it be from Replicas and Miniatures?

I picked that body up so long ago at NNL East. Sorry, but I have no recollection of who made it. It is very nicely cast. You would swear that it is styrene. WF
6bblbird Posted June 7, 2023 Author Posted June 7, 2023 I didn't go too crazy wit the interior because I don't think it will be able to be seen with the body on the car. WF 1
6bblbird Posted June 7, 2023 Author Posted June 7, 2023 (edited) Sorry for the blurry picture. Front shocks were scratch built from aluminum tubing. I even made rubber bushings. Edited June 7, 2023 by 6bblbird 1
TarheelRick Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 Very cool altered. These cars had very limited interiors anyway, so what you have is pretty much sufficient. I would suggest maybe adding a block-off panel dividing the interior from the trunk area.

Andrew McD Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 I do love altereds and this one is proving to be interesting. I'll be following along.
6bblbird Posted June 8, 2023 Author Posted June 8, 2023 The headers that I originally intended to use were ok but a bit small in diameter so I made my own . I think that the "bologna" slice is a nice touch. 2
6bblbird Posted June 8, 2023 Author Posted June 8, 2023 The scoop, blower and the valve covers are all cast metal. They were actually intended to be jewelry! I only wish that i had bought more when I had the chance.
