chris coller Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Straight box stock build with plug wires. Picked it up at a flea market for $6 untouched. Boy was I woorried about those 20 plus year decals. I am happy with the way it turned out as I built I don't know how many of these a s a kid. This one came out mush better. Enjoy.
atenzapower Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Nice...Very Nice. Indead.I never saw one of those models.
crispy Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Another great one Chris! Did you do anything special with the kit decals or apply as normal? By that I mean did you clear the decals in case of cracking? I really want to get a hold of the JPS Mustang kit. The black and gold always look good to me. I hope I can build it just as nice as yours when the time comes. Chris
Nick F40 Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Oh yes this is nice, of course right? and Scott's one of my racing idols so this is nice. Indead.I never saw one of those models. You never seen this model or any IMSA models? or IMSA at all? Please let it not be the last one?!
fordsixty Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 nice work man. that is a great looking car. for old decals, they came out really nice.

David Thibodeau Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Beautiful Job man! I too have this kit and worried about the decals... I still may paint those stripes... daunting, but doable... DaveT
chris coller Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 Thanks guys. I just love this kit. Also have the 7-11 and the Folgers version of the IMSA cars. I am planing on doing the 7-11 Mustang but worried about the decals. They seam opaque, to much blleed through for me. If I can pick up another set it will get built. Dave my man, if you decide to paint them stripes you are a saint and good luck. The decals were very stiff. So I busted out the blow drier and the micro sol and got to it. The old glue I had to strip off so to speak in warm water and use micro set to get them stubborn decals to set. I love these type of cars.
935k3 Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Nice job Chris. Watch out some of those Monogram decals can be very brittle, I remember the 7-11 decals were very bad. There old decals also had to have allot of execess glue cleaned off the top of the decal.
MonoPed Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Nice build!! I've got the Whistler Mustang hiding in the pile, hopefully the decals will look as nice as yours when the time comes...
VERNON Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Beautiful job, I just got a factory sealed one and was worried most about the decals, but they look fine. I couldn't believe there were no tire maks on the glass either. These were great kits, wouldn't it be nice to see Revell reisuue some of the old road race kits. Back to your car Chris, Very nice job, Clean work. Happy Modeling, Vernon
bigphoto Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Most excellent build!! I have I believe all but one of the Revell IMSA/Trans-AM Mustangs.
Brudda Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 I saw this car race!!! This is a beautiful build. Nice!!!!
