lordorion1974 Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 I found this Chrome Gundam Marker pen at Hobby Lobby and gave it a go for chroming the trim on cars. The tip is a chisel point and it easily went back over itself while wet without any issue or marring. I put it on this '48 ford on Tuesday night, and Wednesday it was dry to the touch. And not only that, it didn't dull when I rubbed it with my finger! I'm not sure how it will look/react when I clear coat it, but I'll update it once I know. Happy modeling! 1
gary jackson Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 ive seen them at hl guess ill pull the trigger thanks man
lordorion1974 Posted June 26, 2023 Author Posted June 26, 2023 Well...this is after a clear coat of Future. I think it may have dulled it slightly, making it look like a slightly brighter stainless steel trim instead of gleaming chrome. It is definitely a good chrome pen for touching up the spots of bare plastic on chrom parts, they're darn near invisible. Happy modeling! 4

I prefer BMF though, and I got this marker just for touching up kit chrome if it’s to be used. Really good match on the kit chrome.
Dirty Gringo Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Not bad looking I have seen them at the local hobby lobby and just thought I have wasted enough money haha. I think might try one though once the moltov dies out that I have
ctruss53 Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 (edited) I bought that Gundam marker. You must have bought the only one that is actually chrome, because mine only colors in silver paint. It is a bright, shiny silver, but it is far from chrome. Edited July 13, 2023 by ctruss53

Mark Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 I haven't tried mine, but bought one (and found out after I got home, that I already had one!) The chrome one was ten bucks, the other colors were four, so the chrome one should stick out at the store...
