  1. Long time for an update.. Made some good progress on the interior by adding the shift lever, tilt steering stalk and turn signal stock. I mixed up a custom batch of the interior, which I think is fairly close to the subject I'm copying. I added some differentiation to the interior using different acrylic clears from vallejo. Unfortunately, I found out that the engine I got from VCG doesn't fit into this version of the C1500...it's too big! I'll just have to get the latest version of it and make my own 454!
  2. Yep, Polar Lights. Since the '66 participated in LeMans, I'm building it as the one that Super Mario Andretti and partner drove: Metallic Blue with Yellow nose graphics and white stripes. I have the other '66 that MIles and Hulme drove at LeMans in the stash.
  3. Thanks everybody for the kind words, I'm very appreciative!
  4. Nice build! I just finished the exact same one in silver. A fun kit for sure
  5. I have to admit, I have a weird love affair with the Ford GT cars, all the way back to the GT40 Mk. II. I finished the 2006 just last week, and the 2016 was finished either early this year or late last year. I also seem to really like it in yellow, as you can clearly see! The custom license plate for both is the title to my favorite Metallica song. And I what better way to drive these beasts than to thrash metal cranked up to 11!! I do have 2 Fujimi '66 GT40s in the stash that I'll be working on: one will definitely be Ken Miles' GT and the other will be the metallic blue #6 entry into LeMans. Enjoy and model on!
  6. It definitely is nice. It even has the plug holes already made in it. anything that has a hose or wire attachment, has a hole already made for it. I cannot emphasize the excellent quality of it, right down to the casting number on the manifolds. He's definitely got my business, along with iceman collections.
  7. By chance, I lucked into acquiring the old AMT Chevy 454SS Silverado kit from a friend. (which had a walmart price sticker of $6.96) I've been looking for one for a while now, just like everyone else, and there was NO WAY I was going to pay piratEbay prices for the kit. I intend on detailing this as best as I can, as I'm building it for my brother-in-law as a surprise gift. He owns an original one that, unfortunately, is rusting and wasting away in front of his house. Anyhoo, here are some in progress pics of my starting point, beginning with the 454SS engine from VCG Resins by Reese. Excellent quality too. Also adding some extras as best as my skills will allow, looking to improve as I go along.
  8. Well...this is after a clear coat of Future. I think it may have dulled it slightly, making it look like a slightly brighter stainless steel trim instead of gleaming chrome. It is definitely a good chrome pen for touching up the spots of bare plastic on chrom parts, they're darn near invisible. Happy modeling!
  9. I found this Chrome Gundam Marker pen at Hobby Lobby and gave it a go for chroming the trim on cars. The tip is a chisel point and it easily went back over itself while wet without any issue or marring. I put it on this '48 ford on Tuesday night, and Wednesday it was dry to the touch. And not only that, it didn't dull when I rubbed it with my finger! I'm not sure how it will look/react when I clear coat it, but I'll update it once I know. Happy modeling!
  10. Wow, thanks for the feedback! Fomocomav, I read that entire article and found the whole history of the development of the '67 to be fascinating, especially with all of the design pitfalls. Lots of great reference photos too, much appreciated. vamach1, thanks for the email link, I appreciate it.
  11. I want to build a white with blue stripe Shelby, but I can't find blue stripes for it. If anyone has a spare set, or know what kit has them, or even if you can point me towards a website where I can get them, I'd appreciate it. My google-fu and bing-fu aren't coming up with anything. Thanks in advance!
  12. I've got that kit started as well, and I must say that yours is looking awesome! I'll definitely keep an eye on this thread. I had planned on painting mine yellow as well, so I'll ask the obvious question: what yellow did you use?
  13. Well done! I have that one in the stash as my "holy grail" kit. I absolutely LOVE the Ford GT and was going to do mine in yellow with the silver stripes and gloss black rims.
  14. Nope, unfortunately he isn't responding to any message that I've sent him recently. Not sure what's going on with that, but it is what it is.
  15. Wow, that looks awesome! I've got that one in the stash and I'm planning on doing it in Triple Yellow with silver stripes and probably Gloss Black wheels and accents. Thanks for posting it, I've been looking at ideas and pictures for my build.
  16. Looks cool as heck and the green fits it perfectly! It would definitely be a head turner in real life!
  17. The high back buckets look good. I'd go with those. Nice start and I agree on the AMT trucks. I've got the Freightliner Cab-over that is giving me fits, mostly the cab and the seam line from the sleeper extension.
  18. HA! I figured out how to take a screen shot off of my phone! I do know how to operate some technology... Here is the paint chip that he sent me, and a good picture of his Windsor. I asked him where he got the paint chip from, but I haven't heard from him in a week about it so...whatever. I'll just keep on modeling.
  19. Lets see... a Chrylser 300 (windsor deluxe ?) '69 hardtop Plymouth GTX- its been started by my youngest son '69 Ragtop Plymouth GTX- started by me alongside my youngest 2015 Ford GT- (a personal holy grail car if money ever falls from the sky)- opened but untouched 87 Buick GNX-opened but untouched '65 Chevy Stepside- opened but untouched Freightliner Cabover with a Tanker trailer- both at a major painting stage, but no warm area to paint in (west central Ohio) Mack DM 600 Truck- mostly assembled Millenium Falcon- the huge '80s AMT/ERTL one.
  20. Thanks again for the replies guys, very appreciated. Steve and GTX, yeah I was curious about it too, as Moebius specifies in the instructions that it was only available in black, red and white. I'm not one to argue, his car is blue and is a dead ringer for the model kit. I'll just build it and get it as close as possible to what the owner has. I can't do much more than that! Edit: Yeah, I was mistaken that he owns a 300, its definitely a 55 Windsor Deluxe. I can't seem to grasp that I can pinch and zoom on those photos to see things that are small. (My fault for that faux pas) So...yeah. Batting a thousand in this new year ?‍♂️
  21. Thanks for the replies gentlemen, it's appreciated very much. From the pics he sent me, its definitely more of a blue than a turquoise shade. I'll do some more digging and see what I can come up with. I'll look into paints that come close to it and if i can't do that, well then I'm probably going to try and eyeball the mix as best as I can!
  22. Thanks Espo, I've looked on his website and even autocolorlibrary.com and I can't even find the name listed under Dodge, Chrysler and Plymouth paint chips. It's a little baffling.
  23. Hey all, My internet searching has turned up zilch on finding this color. I'm building the Moebius Chrysler 300 for a friend at work and he sent me this paint chip/code that it is painted in. I can't pull the picture of the chip from my phone, but here is the pertinent information 1955 Heron Blue 60-7119 (Lac.) 90-3110 (Syn.) on the left of the chip are the following codes U.303 L.303 INS.304 Any help would be appreciated
  24. I bought a bottle from them at the beginning of the year, before I had ever even researched the company on here or elsewhere (I live on the EDGE!). It was only after I placed the order that I found out all the issues from the BBB and the Mega-thread posted in these forums. Since it was only one bottle I didn't put much stock in ever seeing it show up. (I've wasted more money on other things to get my shorts in a knot over a bottle of paint) Lo and behold it did show up, with no major issues or hiccups: no phone calls or emails. I'll probably never buy from them again just because of the total randomness of their business practice. If I order from a website, I want assurance that it will show up in a reasonable amount of time, not a "well, we'll see if it shows up or not".
