xs650shawn Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 This started out as a junkyard slump buster. It was parts of 3 incomplete Lindberg 1961 Impala kits, the most complete being the Dyno Don Super Stock racer, so I was going to build it box stock as that. Between the 3, I had enough to build one complete car. Believe it or not, reference photos of the Dyno Don racer are not that easy to come by, and I didn't feel like the box photos were accurate at all. So after one failed attempt at painting the body white, I decided to go another route, sort of gasser tribute or street freak. And, I had this red nail polish called "Ruby Pumps" screaming to be used on this model. I decided that it needed another color to set it off, so the back roof was done. I also wired the engine and plumbed in a fuel line. 4
Kah puts Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Dorothy’s slipper’s look great on this refreshing change of this classic, thanks for sharing.
satterwhite78 Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 One of the two best kit from Lindberg, the other is the 66 Chevelle. Authentic look for a early 60's street brute!
karbuildr Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Well done, nail polish can give some interesting paint finishes. Yours looks great.
espo Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Like the smooth sparkly paint finish. The stance along with the wheels and tires look like it means business.
Street Rod Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Great looking Chevy! I’m digging that red paint, the black roof compliments it perfectly.
Rattlecan Dan Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Definitely a cool hot rod. Nice build, and paint.
Sidney Schwartz Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 That looks way too good for a Lindberg kit. ?
happy grumpy Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Very cool impala. I like the color and how it shines in the sun.
