jdhog Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 (edited) Stepping out of my comfort zone here. Trying to make a lowered 2WD Blazer. I want independent front suspension, so I hacked up the chassis from the AMT C-1500 Sportside. I have the wheelbase right. Just hacking away to make stuff fit right now. The wheels are temporary, I *think*. Edited August 8, 2023 by jdhog 3
NOBLNG Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Nice start!? I’m not a fan of those wheels, but they do have the correct 5 lugs for a 2wd version. 1
TarheelRick Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Going to be an interesting build. Saw a lowered 2WD on a trailer a few months back, looked quite different from what I am used to. Also as Greg said I am not a fan of those type wheels. They are directional which makes them more of a challenge to get correct. 1

I've tried to add those style wheels to multiple builds, but they never look right.
espo Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Like the 2 wheel drive conversion. The Corvette wheels would work depending on the look you're after but notice that they are a directional design and when you do your final mounting remember to make sure of the wheel's direction. 1
jdhog Posted August 10, 2023 Author Posted August 10, 2023 Decided on rally wheels from the C-1500 kit. Going with a no trim smooth look. Fighting with the ghosting but I think I've got it gone. The top is badly warped. Going to have to give that attention. Going to use the 350 out of the C-1500 kit. 4
Mike C. Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 A good trick on the warped top is to heat it with an ordinary hairdryer. If that wont work, PM me. I have 2 extra ones. 1

NOBLNG Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 Yeah, those wheels look better In my eyes. If you can’t get the roof straightened, you can always glue it on.? 1
jdhog Posted August 11, 2023 Author Posted August 11, 2023 In 30+ years of model making, I just realized that I've never done a brown paint job. ?♂️ Polishing on going... 5
