PYRO 1959 VW Beetle

Greetings All,

After a brief pause to visit family in Florida, I thought posting one of my older 'works' would be interesting.  This is at least 27 years old.  I built this from an old Pyro kit for a VW model contest that was part of a big Volkswagen car show held in central Florida.  The show has been going on for about 35 years.  I believe they only had the 'VW model contest' for one year and it was stopped.  I anticipated a lot of really good, well detailed entries, so I wanted to do something really unique.  I've always been a fan of 'cut-away' display cars, so I gave it a shot.  Of course, my detailing skills have gotten a little better over time and if I remember correctly,....I didn't give myself a lot of time before I decided to enter the contest.  I did a VW bus a few years later that came out slightly better.  That one never went into a contest.                          Hope you enjoy the photos!
