You are a real encyclopedia on the subject John, I am always amazed by your knowledge on the subject!

I really love that version, especially the hood stripe and body color grille frame. ?

They were less greedy than today on the bill as we can see... ?

Thank you much for the accolades . I can't possibly take full credit for my (fallible) knowledge ; my main source - when  I question me own memory, or someone else questions my sources - is Hamtramck Historical  The 1970 Hamtramck Registry Home Page (hamtramck-historical.com)

The Sizzler stripes really make the car. Surely, 1971 was the model year which started the whole "Sticker Racer" era ( Nova Rallye, Chevelle Heavy Chevy , for two similar comparisons - though the latter could be had with the 402 cube Turbo Jet 400 ) .

Different times for sure. That's when there was still a fledgling , functioning middle class in the U.S. - the 1980's ad seq. changed all of that.

Is the shipment of 71 Demon kits on it's way to the U.S yet?

There are actually two containers on the water right now.  Not sure if they will be in distribution before Christmas though.  Right after the New Year is more likely.

Whose new year ? Lunar ?

Just joking.

I hope that this is a case of under promise, over deliver .

HPI guys has a video review of the Demon now.   I think it is interesting that  the grill appears to be in two pieces.  A base that includes headlight surrounds and then grill inserts. At least that  is what it looks like to me on the video.  Maybe Tim Boyd can share since he had the kit also.

The original kit had a one-piece plated grille and bumper assembly with molded in headlamps.   The new kit has an un-plated grille, separate chrome bumper and clear headlights.  Grille part should be painted argent and black except for the Sizzler which has body color surrounds.  Also note the two-piece front bucket seats, the backs are on the tree next to the hood scoops.  Chris was confused on what those parts were.

Thanks Steve.  I was trying to watch the video and see and also looked at Tim's sight.  Good idea that the grill is separate and NOT chrome.
