junkyardjeff
I told myself I was done building 1940 Ford's no matter who made them since I had built plenty, well I recently picked up a Monogram 40 pickup from the 60s for some parts for another project so I picked up a later unbuilt version to use for parts to fix it and then I done some trading to get another 60s 40. Looking through that big stash of parts I picked up earlier this year I found two savable AMT 40 coupe bodies so I am putting them back together and then I still have that AMT 40 sedan I want to build like what's on the box. Since I am on a roll with the 40s I will just finish all of them and then go on to the rest of my projects, never say never because it will always haunt you.
atomicholiday
A part of me says I will never build the same kit twice. But I know it’s total bs. I’ve built like three or four Monogram ‘69 Z28s. But I’ll “never” build it again. So anyway , let me tell you my plans for the next Monogram ‘69 Camaro I’m bench racing.
junkyardjeff
I have a feeling most of us are in this situation and it's probably not a bad thing,on my post of the latest 40 I am building someone shown a picture of his version of a race car and I do have some that are not worth rebuilding that would make excellent dirt track cars so it's never going to end. Dpate
Promised myself I’d never buy another MPC kit…Still haven’t broke that promise lol.
BlackSheep214
I love MPC car kits. Monogram (not the new Revellogram kits) is a close second. The old Revell kits is third. AMT kits is a distant 4th.
Bullybeef
I said I would not buy or trade for anymore vintage Amt 39/40 fords… sigh I just bought 7 more tonight. This after I sold off or traded away the 12 I had previously. I had only kept one first release 39 Tudor sedan.
junkyardjeff
I am going to try to not build any more 40s after this batch I have but who knows what will.happen years down the road. Now if someone would make a 40 woody kit then I would definitely need to get a couple.
bobss396
I have to go look... I have a bunch of '40 Ford kits. AMT, many. I know I have a Lindberg and a few Revell ones. I prefer the AMT ones over any of them. I have one started as a box-art blue one from the OG box top.
junkyardjeff
Hopefully my last AMT 40 for awhile will be a sedan built like the one on the early 60s box,I found some paint that should match and I hope no more 40 kits come my way. It's time to build anything different.
