hey all
Seeing as my other subject didn't warrant much interest, maybe this might? I Finished this one last night after a 3 week build period. It's not meant to be a hardcore representation of the Bismarck - I added just the Eduard PE set and the crappy Pontos wooden deck sticker (which is giving me a headache with its really bad adhesion properties). The paint scheme is based on the "Too Hot too handle" camo pattern from WOWSL. The rigging is not accurate either. The PE work is less than stella and there are a multitude of other issues that would prohibit it from being any kind of competition contender - BUT - it was a fun build and now sits alongside the Alaska.
The DKM H Class battleship ("Pommern" basically) is on the to-do list as well as the HMS Exeter, New Jersey and Yamato

Sorry for the not so great pictures - I am having to resort to my phone lately because the battery for my DSLR blew up and I haven't bought a new one yet.

As always, thanks for stopping in and having a look

Looks darn good to me!

Is that a real or fantasy paint scheme?  I remember "dazzle" camo on ships, but I believe it was all grayscale.

thanks Pete :)  Nah mate, this is pure fantasy. I based it on a skin from the video game called World Of Warships Legends (WOWSL). I love how the various different camo patterns can really change the way a ship looks - for better or for worse. And the bonus for me, is that this game has really ignited a fascination for WW2 naval history. I've learnt a lot about some of these warships and hope to learn more

That thing looks awesome with the WOWSL camo scheme and the PE work look good to my eyes...lots of little PE railing with curves and such and yours looks good.  Sorry to hear about the decking but now I know as I had always wondered how well those decking kits worked.

thanks guys :)

The paint on the bottom of the hull is Mr Surfacer 1000 Red Oxide from a spray can with some other reds sprayed through a dust filter
