Oh boy! Are they wrong?

Big time on the early releases of the '55 but they were corrected for the '57 and all subsequent releases of the '55.

If you compare the cab you have with the '57 cab in my pic below, you'll easily see how the sill of the side windows is much higher in the original kits.

Might want to check the fit of the windshield also. Poor fit in some of the kits but I don't remember having a problem with the original release I built when it first came out.

I did a bunch of work to make the one fit well in the '57 I'm currently building.

I see. However, it looks OK to me.

OK. Personally, I can't un-see it but if you're happy with it, that's what matters.

Is it because the sill appears to go down towards the rear?

Exactly.

Ah, OK. But since it isn't going into any contest, and only me will see it, It will be yolerated.?

Like I said above, if it's OK with you that's all that matters. ?

"The song is now stuck in my head", I can't unsee it either. What would be the fix, lowering the front or raising the rear?

Lowering the front.

BUT, you only have to worry about that if you have an early '55 kit like Pats.

All the newer kits have the corrected cab.

Wouldn't it be cool if AMT reissued the 1957 Cameo, or took the street rod '55 Chevy step side and did a stock version step side as a '57.

Just something to think about that shouldn't be that hard.
