These are my new projects I'm building..The Duster is Butch Leal's 71 Hemi Pro Stock car..I backhalf the the Duster chassis with the Hemi Dart rear end..I used the Hemi  Dart interior and have a 3D Hemi motor to complete the build..The 55 Chevy is my interpretation of the 2 Lane Blacktop car..The 55 is going to be the 1st build I have ever wired the engine, so we will see how that goes..Any feedback from my modeling community will be helpful..The plan is to wire the Duster also and future builds..

That 55 is cool!  Love the tires!

Plug wires are easy - most common mistakes people make are using super thick wire that looks like garden hose (or pool noodles), and not having them ‘droop’ like real ones do.

Are you using an aftermarket pre-wired distributor or converting the kit piece yourself?

If you'd like to run the plug wires like a 1:1, this will help.

Installing them is easy, mic the wire and use the appropriate drill to make your holes. If you want to know where the plugs locate in the heads, Google search spark plug locations for whichever engine you're working on.

Great looking cars so far. As for wired dist. get one from MAD. They make a great pre wired dist. Mopar and chevy use the same firing order. 18436572. The dist. rotate clockwise so does the firing order. Left cylinder bank is 1357, right cylinder bank is 2468. Once you start wiring the cars with the factory firing order, every time you see a model that's not wired like that you can tell it without even counting out the firing order. It just looks out of place. CabDrivers right too. Don't use too big a wire and bend the wires so they droop over valve covers and intakes and in places where they should lay. Also keep them as short as possible just like on the real cars.

Couple kewl looking projects there Maurice.  30 AWG wire and drill out the center of the stock distributor is what I do.  Glue the wires in with Loctite Gel glue.  Or, you can buy aftermarket.

Outside phone wire works good too. Outside wire has solid copper wire in it so it's bendable, where inside wire is wrapped stranded wire, and won't take a bend at all. You can buy a 50 ft roll of outside wire cheap, and it lasts a lifetime. Plus, it has 6 different colors inside the gray insulation. It has red, black, yellow, blue, white, and green. So you are set for plug wire colors as well as colors for wiring up ignition boxes and other things under the hood. I jsut looked office max has a 50 ft roll for 12 and Home Depot for 20. So Lowes and Wal Mart will have it cheaper. Has to be the 6 wire outside wire though. Not the 4 wire inside wire.

No, I'm using 18 gauge wire and I scratch build the distributor out round tube styrene. I had the same thought about having to big wires.

Can you rewrite this paragraph?  It makes no sense. First You say inside wire works good. Then it says inside wire is bendable, then it says inside wire is not bendable.  Then it says it has to be outside wire, not inside wire.  Have no idea what your trying to say.

Sorry about that. I should have proofread it.  I fixed it. My smart phones auto correct is not that smart. lol

I think dwc43 means "outside wire'' is that used outside the building such as the wire from the street. Inside wire is used to reticulate the phonelines around the house. In NZ the outside wire is usually a bit larger than that used inside and has gunk around it. The inside wire is smaller and solid core.

I would think that either choice would be too big. Better use would be for brake and fuel hoses

For a good source of spark plug wire go online and look for 30g Kynar wire wrapping wire - this is similar to the stuff sold by the aftermarket suppliers and comes in >10ft rolls that will last a long time and different colours too. RS has it in 50m rolls but there are suppliers who have it in smaller rolls
