A few days before Christmas, when the postman rang the bell, I ran towards him, slipped on the stairs and fell to the floor. The result was a broken sternum and a rib. What does that tell us? Model building can be dangerous. I want to build the kit "OOB", but will try to upgrade the engine compartment with some details. The vehicle will be painted metallic gray, perhaps with red stripes. I will largely avoid chrome because I don't like the chrome-plated parts. Instead they become dull black. BDSchindler Posted January 13 Share Posted January 13 I have this very same kit but I haven’t started it yet. There’s a few issues with it…like the chromed side gill vents. The kit provided ones look cheap. I’ll prolly use styrene and fab my own. I also picked up TX3DCustom’s 427 for it with the webers. I modified the intake so the webers sit straight up as opposed to being canted inward at an angle. it’s in the queue to be built but I have other projects on the bench first. Mittagskind Posted January 19 Author Share Posted January 19 The engine is making progress. I didn't like the lots of chrome plated parts, especially the carburetor intake funnels. Because I didn't have a really good chrome paint, I decided to paint them gold. I admit the wiring looks a little confused, but form follows function.
