Gary Chastain Posted June 6, 2024 Author Posted June 6, 2024 Not a lot of time today but got some little things done. Made up two rubber bumper stops for the trailer painted black, rear bumper fabricated and painted blue, used the tie down bars from the kit and modified them and painted black. Worked on tool box but not happy with door. 4
Jürgen M. Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 Wow, Looks really great. Your precision is just awesome! 2
Gary Chastain Posted June 8, 2024 Author Posted June 8, 2024 (edited) Rainy day progress, toll box finished, other small items mounted. Think I may back up and add a stain to the deck to give a more worn appearance. Wheels installed. Details take so much time. Edited June 8, 2024 by Gary Chastain Added pictures 3

Gary Chastain Posted June 29, 2024 Author Posted June 29, 2024 Rainy day, so getting some bench time. Added stain to the trailer floor to add some aging. Built a second shipping crate as one looked kinda lonely. Now to build all the straps. 3
Gary Chastain Posted June 30, 2024 Author Posted June 30, 2024 Finished the trailer today and moved it over to under glass. Now back to finish truck. 5

Gary Chastain Posted July 31, 2024 Author Posted July 31, 2024 Haven’t been using any model glue but been using a lot of wood glue. Finally build the stair railing (so the grandkids don’t fall off), taped the drywall and painted and refinished the steps coming up. Today I added to Craftsman toolboxes to my workbench, so I can better organize my stuff. The plastic roller bins just didn’t work well. soon as this stuff is finished and a little organization, I can finish the truck. 3

Amazing work and, great work space you've created! Thanks for looking at my builds. It’s always nice to have new builders join in the fun. The work space has been years in the making and it seems I can never get it organized enough. It bugs me when I can’t find parts or…….i have too many parts. 12 hours ago, gotnitro? said: Nice job on the railings! Jürgen M. Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 Outstanding build Gary! Can't wait to see the tractor finished! 2
Biggu Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 Gary , as the other guys have said this build is beautiful. And an interesting bit on the f/a. I built this kit when it first came out many many years ago and of course didn’t notice the f/a issue. I just very recently purchased the Sprite version but have yet to crack it open. I was also thinking of front floats…. Do you think an aftermarket f/a might make life easier for some of us? I have a couple and will have to measure and compare of course but maybe it might be easier for those of us who don’t have the engineering skills Just a random thought. Love your builds and always fun to watch and a learning experience. Jeff

Love your builds and always fun to watch and a learning experience. Jeff Hey Jeff. I think the earlier kits did not have this issue, the tool must have been updated due to wear or something and the locating position of the front springs got moved. The axle fits the springs quite well. I am hoping the new Sprite redo is a better updated kit. A narrower front axle would make floats and easier task for sure 2
Gary Chastain Posted August 29, 2024 Author Posted August 29, 2024 Decided to build a display cabinet to put my truck builds in, maybe help keep the dust off. 42 inches long by 24 inches wide, that should fit the truck and trailers. Used some no 2 oak I had laying around, will cut plexiglass to insert in the glass areas. Hopefully the grandkids can’t break it or ………. The aluminum spacers are to get the door spacing the same all around. 3
BK9300 Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 Great looking cabinet! Your shop cabinets and workbench look better than some kitchens I’ve seen. 1

Thanks, my wood shop fits in the same category as my lawn mower or the garden. When I need to cut the grass I grab the mower, when we need a piece of furniture,I go out to the wood shop, they are not my focus hobby, just necessary tools to live my life and keep costs down.
