Zippi Posted March 5, 2024 Author Posted March 5, 2024 I started wet sanding the body this morning trying to save this paint job. I'm wet sanding with 3,200, 4,000, 6,000, 8,000, and 12,000 grit. Not looking to bad. We'll see how the body turns out. 2
Zippi Posted March 5, 2024 Author Posted March 5, 2024 Ok....I got the body wet sanded with the same process as above. This is about all I can do with it. Didn't turn out to bad. Just took a lot of work to get it all flattened out. 2

Rattlecan Dan Posted March 6, 2024 Posted March 6, 2024 Man, I think you got a way with the blues. If ya know what I mean. Lookin good Bro.
bobss396 Posted March 6, 2024 Posted March 6, 2024 I just painted an AWB Mustang last week, used Extreme Lacquer dark blue and their clear coat. I should do a build post on it. No polishing required, the finish is good as is.

ksnow Posted March 6, 2024 Posted March 6, 2024 Another great finish on that one. You sure have a way to wrestle them into submission.

Zippi Posted March 6, 2024 Author Posted March 6, 2024 I managed to get the foil work and the front & rear glass installed this morning. I was trial fitting the side glass and they are to small. I checked the lovers and they are small as well. Anyone built this kit and get the glass to fit? I may just have to use the lovers.

A little late now, why should always white glue mock up… just saying.
FoMoCo66 Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 I have built this kit and the side glass fit just fine. Here's a picture of the side window.the Lip is very small but it fits.

Zippi Posted March 8, 2024 Author Posted March 8, 2024 Well....disaster struck. The side glass was way to small the fit the opening so my only choice was the lovers which are on the small side as well. As I was trying to glue in the lovers I dropped the model. It hit the work bench and glue bottle. I now have a big scratch on the roof plus glue on the roof and deck lid. Well, it was fun while it lasted.
