6bblbird Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 (edited) Can't get enough of these Moebius '65 Plymouths! This one was sort of a "get back into the hobby" deal. Started on it a few months back but I wanted the correct paint color (Ford poppy red). Ordered the bottles from that famous paint guy , Took forever so I had a body shop supply company put some in a spray can for me. It is amazing! Two part paint and clear. Decals are Slixx. It went together so well that I' building a few more SS and AWB cars. The big photos show me a lot that I can't see ! Gotta hook that upper radiator hose back up! Edited March 16, 2024 by 6bblbird 8
6bblbird Posted March 16, 2024 Author Posted March 16, 2024 Better L/S photo with a door handle. You have to be really careful with these as they are quite flimsy and will either break or disappear forever into the carpet! I bought a handful of resin door handles for replacements. 6
Yeah Nah Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Looks great Walter. Always like to see AWB builds.
Scott Eriksen Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 Nice job Walter! I like those AWB Moebius kits too!
M W Elky Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 It looks just amazing. I like your use of the black steel back wheels as they give a nice contrast. I have found that the tamyia bright red is a pretty close match for that shade of red.
RT6PK Posted March 18, 2024 Posted March 18, 2024 Nice work. What paint did you use for the interior?

I've been using Tamiya TS 75 Champagne Gold for the vinyl parts and TS 46 Light Sand for the carpet area and headliner. Almost all of the factory A990 and AWB cars came with gold interiors. Only a couple were red. Some cars had black rubber floor mats while others had the tan carpets.

Scott8950 Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 Doesn't get much better than a awb car, very nice job on your build.
papajohn97 Posted March 28, 2024 Posted March 28, 2024 Very nice job Walt. I know what you mean about these Mobius Mopars, I think I’ve built like 6 or 7 of them (hard tops, sedans, AWB’s). They are absolutely addictive!!!! I stopped building them when I ran out of decal options. Can’t wait for the Dodge kits to be released, I have three sets of decals waiting for them. Love early/ mid sixties super stockers!
jlucky Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Nice job on the Butch Leal car! It's a classic. I had the opportunity to chat with Butch at last year's Nitro Revival at Irwindale and he would not let me leave! He had so many stories to tell about all his cars. This ones a classic. Great work!
