Kenmojr Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 I have the Testors metal 1/18th 1930 Packard Brewster to build. Purchased it almost 30 years ago during a shopping trip to Bangor & Portland, Maine. Presently too busy being caregiver for my Dad, 93 years old and in poor health. I also purchased the Testors metal 1/18 Lincoln Zephyr at the same time. Mardens Surplus & Salvage has various locations in Maine used to carry a few older kits and they were priced quite low.
NOBLNG Posted May 29, 2024 Author Posted May 29, 2024 (edited) I screwed up the chrome while trying to blackwash the stone guard…so I decided to cut out the plastic mesh and add some real stuff. It took me half a dozen ties to get a decent hole punched in it and a nice snug fit inside the frame, but I think it was worth the effort. I sprayed it with Revell Chrom and was happy to see the openings not clogged. I also managed to get some paint on the body. Mr.Color 131 Propeller Color for the fenders, and Createx Wicked Yellow for the body. I am debating whether to paint the wheels or leave them chrome? That’s all for now. Before masking to paint the accents, I want to make sure the paint is well dried. Edited May 29, 2024 by NOBLNG 2

NOBLNG Posted September 26, 2024 Author Posted September 26, 2024 (edited) Well it’s been a while since I’ve worked on this one. I got the grill guard mounted nicely, but managed to snap the headlight bar in half.? luckily I was able to drill and pin it back together satisfactorily.? The warped body nearly sent it back into the box forever.? I managed to get most of the warp out thankfully. It is now finished and under glass here:https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/195310-1934-packard/ Edited September 26, 2024 by NOBLNG
