Ace-Garageguy Posted April 1, 2024 Posted April 1, 2024 (edited) I got this little badly injured Shark a while back. Almost unbelievably, its previous owner saved ALL the pieces. A little TLC, and she looks like this. You can still see some of the seams, but after she's stripped and repainted, she'll be good as new... She's slated to get modified into this, one of the last two of these on Earth, currently under restoration (maybe) after 40 years in hiding. I would have hidden too if all my siblings had been cut up for scrap. Edited April 4, 2024 by Ace-Garageguy TYPO 6
Lunajammer Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Great save! I really had to do some photo comparo to even see the seams. 1
stavanzer Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 What a rare & interesting Locomotive. It is a wonder any survived. Great Save!
Dave Van Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 I always liked the Shark!! I have a few in HO and O scale. Nice save on that one! I did cut up a TYCO Shark to make this......it was a junker. 3

A Fairbanks-Morse Trainmaster with a Baldwin "Shark" nose and a steam-style cab. You sure don't see many model RR guys building "freelanced" what-ifs that are that far out. Probably the best use for the proportion-challenged Tyco Shark, too. 3
Dave Van Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 thanks Sir!!! You spotted all the parts I used. The tender is a F7 covered in Evergreen stock and powers the loco. Thanks 1
mustang1989 Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 Model rail roading is something that I never got into but I do have a good bit of admiration for. Takes a LOT of work to come up with some of the layouts that I've seen. Good work on repairing this Bill. 1 1
Mr Erik Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 Nice save! Working in this scale is a challenge indeed. 1
