Hello,

I decided that the seats of a 1/24 Mazda RX-7 R1 that I am building need some more detail in the form of seat belt buckles, so I was wondering if there are any companies out there making car seat belt buckles in 1/24 scale. If anyone knows of any, especially ones that they have had good experience with, please let me know.

Thank you!

The difference between 1/24 and 1/25 scale wouldn’t really be noticeable. Maybe for tires and rims, but seat belts are small to begin with, to me, wouldn’t be a problem.

Gofer Racing makes some generic stock-type buckles. Some interior detail sets have them, specific to a car/brand. For domestic cars, one of the companies that would likely have them would be Model Car Garage, in some of his detail sets.

Gofers are not so bad. I have never been successful getting the thick ribbon through the hardware and getting it glued together. I use either paper from other belt kits or ribbon.

The ribbon is way too heavily-textured, as well. I have been using wine bottle foil, for about thirty years, now. I really like that I can "pose" it. It's a little thicker than paper, but, it will fit!

I grab any flat ribbon ? that I see, mostly off gifts. Curling ribbon is good too, run it across a steel scale to take a little texture off it.

I fold tabs in the ribbon, put it through the hardware and secure it with CA or tacky glue.
