KWT Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Trying to get back in the swing of things and get my creative juices flowing again... Life, work and burnout can be a .... I set forth on another Monogram design that I've never built before. This time, the Revell 64 GTO 2n1. Opened it up and started getting the body prepped. I decided to give my paint skills a little workout with this one... Paint is Tamiya Metallic Gray covered in clear blue and cleared. That's pretty much where I'm at right now. Haven't got a clue what direction I'm going with this one. Not sure how much updating I'll get in on this before I finish it, but I'll try to remember to take few pics as I go. 7
deuces wild Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 You done pretty good... I haven't completed a model since 1974....?? 3
KWT Posted April 14, 2024 Author Posted April 14, 2024 Thank guys. Hope it looks alright when I'm done. 1
bobss396 Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Clear blue, interesting... probably gives it a lot more depth. 1
espo Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Doesn't look like you lost any painting talents in the time you have been away. The color reminds me of the Chevrolet Danube Blue color, don't recall what Pontiac would have called it. 1

KWT Posted July 23, 2024 Author Posted July 23, 2024 Finally got a little bench time in. I was going to do a little customizing to this one, but in the spirit of wanting to get something... anything... actually done, I've went with boxstock... Got some shadowing done on the grill and wheels... still need to add more. Got the engine assembled. Still need to do some shadowing to it.. and the chassis is starting to come together as well Not a lot of progress.. but a little is better than nothing considering it's already almost august. Hopefully not as long before I get somewhere else with this.... stay tuned... 3
KWT Posted August 3, 2024 Author Posted August 3, 2024 Got a few last pieces to get on and dry, but one last pic before we're finished up... We'll probably be under glass before the nights over 2
DJMar Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 I really dig the color. It looks awesome! I know this is a pretty basic kit, and also 1:24, but it's one of my favorite Monogram models. 1
KWT Posted August 4, 2024 Author Posted August 4, 2024 Much appreciated... I really like this kit. I'll probably grab another one sometime down the road. Honestly... Don't tell nobody.. I've always preferred the 1/24 Monogram kits. 1

Of course, most of the kits I have in my stash are 1:25, but I have so many good memories of building all those 1:24 Monogram kits in the 1980s. If I find any of them online at a decent price, I snatch them right up. It will be our secret.
