Phildaupho Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Absolutely wonderfully built "Cobra".Β I really appreciate that you completed the engine compartment which is maybe the only thing lacking with the 427 kit and which most builders do not fabricate. Reading your write-up got me thinking of the later small block British "Cobras" produced by Autocraft. 1
Mr. Metallic Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 Nice conversion work, and a very clean build. Cool story to, I learned something new today. 1
Cobra Ned Posted Thursday at 05:42 PM Posted Thursday at 05:42 PM Your model depicts one of the rarest versions of the 1960's Cobras, as the "AC 289 Sports" was only available in Europe. Just 26 of these were built, and 19 of those were right hand drive, intended for sale in the UK. That meant that there were 7 built in left hand drive form, and I am lucky enough to have had one in my garage for the past 20 years. Coincidentally, it is almost a 1:1 copy of your build, part from the steering and minor wheel design differences. I think we both made excellent choices. 1
Matt Bacon Posted Saturday at 08:21 AM Author Posted Saturday at 08:21 AM Thatβs brilliant, @Cobra Ned. You are a very lucky man! I love it (the model is the only way I could fulfil my desire for one in my life π best, M.
