jjsipes Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 Original Monogram Folgers kit. Powerslide decals, Model Master Flame Red Lacquer inside and out. Often wonder wonder how the Nascar history books would look had Tim not died. 9
espo Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 Great looking build. Like the detailing throughout. I agree with your opinion of Tim Richmond's driving abilities. He was one of the most dominant drivers during his all to short driving carrier.
bobss396 Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 He was really the only one who could run hard with the #3 car. Gone way too soon. He was good in Indy cars too.
Volzfan59 Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 Beautiful model, that flame red really jumps off of the screen! I was a Tim Richmond fan, great driver gone too soon. I remember him coming to the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway while he was on his hiatus from racing, before he quit driving. I think it was the night prior to the All American 400. Supposedly someone "stole the pace car" and was running crazy fast laps around the 5/8 mile track. For those that don't know, there's a 1/4 mile track inside the big track. Anyway, Metro Nashville P.D. gave chase to no avail. The pace car stopped at the finish line and out pops Tim Richmond. The crowd went nuts.
ncbuckeye67 Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 Excellent build! I've always liked him and thought his cars looked great. I have this kit in my stash, and want to add the Lemans "Old Milwaukee" kit to go with it.
Jim N Posted May 14, 2024 Posted May 14, 2024 Great looking model. I sometimes wonder the same thing about Tim and how his career would have been and how the history books would be different. After seeing the ESPN show about his life, I wonder if the old guard in NASCAR would have run him out. Richard Petty seemed to detest him and France, Jr. did not know what to do until Tim got sick, and then they turned on him with a vengeance.
MarkJ Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 I like everything about it. Your modeling skills are undeniable and your ability to crank them out so quickly is amazing. Keep up the great work.
Bbo1974 Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 Looks good! I see this model for sale all the time but rarely see it built. Your paint and detail work are excellent!
